Why WHMCS
The store is where the brand usually stops
More than 35,000 hosting companies run on WHMCS, and most of them sell through it. A buyer can leave a carefully branded homepage and land in a cart that looks like a different company made it. That is the moment they are deciding whether to pay you. We know the WHMCS order process from the inside. For WHMCS itself we redesigned every step from domain search to payment, and it shipped in the product. It runs on a small set of colour tokens, so one setting changes the masthead, buttons and highlights on every page. Five starter themes come with it. We also redesigned the WHMCS website page by page. In 2025 we designed a concept for the WHMCS admin, built from four page types. That concept was never built. Following real admin tasks through it showed us how hosting staff use WHMCS all day. So a WHMCS project with us starts where your customers pay and where they come back: the cart, the checkout and the client area. Your brand carries through all of them.
What we have built
Built for WHMCS
WHMCS buy flow
Checkout UX for WHMCS itself, from domain search to payment. Search that starts from a plain description of the business, a cart that shows its sums, and upsells only where they make sense. Shipped in WHMCS, themeable by every hosting brand that sells through it. See the WHMCS buy flow.
ProStack, a WHMCS theme in their brand
ProStack’s domain search, cart and checkout, built on WHMCS and themed in ProStack’s navy and type, so buyers never feel they have left the site.
WHMCS website
A page-by-page redesign of the WHMCS marketing site around one rule: show the product working before asking anyone to read. One route from homepage to pricing to product tour, built from one set of components the team reuses. See the WHMCS website.
WHMCS admin concept
A 2025 concept for the admin hosting staff spend their working day in. Four page types, light and dark themes designed together, and invoices that show where they are without being opened. Never built, and it does not show WHMCS's plans. See the WHMCS product concept.

Themes, order forms and client areas
WHMCS theme, order form and client area design
Grid designs WHMCS themes and order forms for hosting companies that want the store to match the rest of their brand. We work on domain search, cart and checkout, and on the client area a customer returns to. That includes the upgrade path inside it.
For the order form, we start with what a buyer checks before paying. That is the price today, the renewal price, the term and what each extra does. In the WHMCS buy flow, one, two and three year terms show 25%, 30% and 35% off. The price rolls to match.
For the client area, we map services, domains, invoices, tickets and upgrades before any visual design. The theme is handed over as documented components and colour tokens. Your developer builds it once, and your team changes colours without redesigning a screen.
What we design
Where a WHMCS store is won
The screens where the money changes hands. Domain search, term choice, add-ons and payment, with the total in view the whole way. Part of our product design work.
“From the outset, it was clear that Grid understood our industry. … The end result has made a real difference to our customer experience.”

FAQs
What hosts on WHMCS ask before hiring us
Yes. We have designed for WHMCS itself, including the buy flow that shipped in the product. We design the client area and order form for hosts who sell through WHMCS. Your theme starts from what your customers actually buy.
That is the usual brief. The order form is the layer your customer sees, and we design it around the products, gateways and add-ons you already run. Anything that would need a change to your WHMCS configuration is flagged before design starts.
We design it and hand over documented components and colour tokens, then stay on hand while your developer builds it. No WHMCS developer? We can build the theme too. Say so on the first call and we will quote for the build alongside the design.
The marketing website, redesigned page by page. The buy flow from domain search to payment, which shipped in WHMCS with five starter themes. And a 2025 concept for the admin, which was never built and does not show WHMCS's plans.
Yes. The mobile cart in the WHMCS buy flow keeps the two numbers people check most: today's total and the renewal. The same colour tokens theme the mobile flow, so your brand looks like itself on every screen.
Yes, and it helps to do both. The step from your site into the store is where a buyer notices two different companies. We design the website and the store as one system, sharing type, colour and components.
