How we work
How we work with you
Fixed scope, a date, and the people who pitched it.
The short version
No handovers
The people you meet do the work
The designer who pitches the project is the designer on it, start to finish. No juniors, no account managers, no handover to a team you have never met.
A number before you commit
Every project is priced as a fixed scope with a date. The number is in the proposal, and it does not move unless the scope does.
Built to be shipped
We design in the tools your team builds in, document every component, and hand over a system marketing and engineering can run without us.
We say no early
If we are not the right studio for the job, we say so on the first call and point you somewhere better.
Two ways to buy
Fixed or retained
Fixed scope
One project, one price, one date. A website, a product, a brand, or all three. Servebolt was three months from concept to live; Freelogo three months from concept to MVP. This is how most of our work runs.
Retainer
A senior designer on your team for a set number of days a month, for the work that never stops: the design system, new pages, the next feature. Agreed quarterly, cancelled with a month's notice.
Who we work with
Four clients
Founders
A product that works and a website that does not explain it. We find the real problem, then ship the fix, from positioning to launch.
Scale-ups
The product outgrew the interface. We rebuild the website around the buyer and the product around the task, and leave a system behind.
Groups and established companies
Managed.com, WebPros and the hosting groups: a parent brand, a family of products, and the website that holds them together.
In-house teams
Senior design capacity when yours cannot scale fast enough: a design system, a redesign, or a product team for a quarter.
After you press send
What happens
A reply from Sy
Your message lands with Sy, who founded the studio and runs every project in it. You get a reply from him within one working day, usually the same day.
A 30-minute call
We ask what you are trying to move, when it has to be live, and what has got in the way so far. You leave with a view on the problem and a rough budget band.
A proposal with a number
Scope, price, date and the people on it, usually within the week. Nothing to sign until you have read it.
Not ready to talk?
The brief writer takes four questions and about a minute, and gives you a written brief you can keep whether you hire us or not.
The numbers
Checkable, not claimed
Every figure has a client name on it and a case study behind it.
