Replacing how an industry works with regulation

Every UK highways professional, from local authorities to private contractors, works to TSRGD. Yet the source material is a sprawling set of statutory PDFs that’s slow to search, easy to misread, and impossible to share across teams. The challenge was to build the first product that replaces this workflow entirely, earning the trust of a sector that’s relied on the same documents for decades.

We turned the regulation’s biggest pain point, finding the right diagram, into the product’s strongest moment. Visitors immediately understand what they’re getting and why their team needs it.

Bright lime accents and confident typography differentiate from category norms, while a friendly mascot warms a traditionally dry sector. The platform now has paid conversions from day one, with an in-product savings calculator showing teams a typical £13,200 yearly return.

TSRGD had a strong product idea but no design language to match. Our role was to define the entire experience, from architecture through to marketing, building a system that scales across audiences, regions, and amendments. The pilot conversions and team licence sales prove it.

Regulations change. The TSRGD has been amended four times since 2016, with regional variants on top. We built a product system flexible enough to keep pace, surfacing every update without disrupting the user. The platform is built to remain the industry's reference tool for years to come.
